Library Databases

Use our collection of databases to locate information on a broad range of subjects including auto repair, genealogy, home repair, health, and hobbies and crafts, and much more. You can access magazine and journal articles, newspapers, and encyclopedias.    If you’re connecting from home, work, or school, you will need a valid library card and PIN, which is usually the last four digits of your phone number.

Monroe County Library is pleased to offer its cardholders access to Lynda.com’s library of instructional videos. Normally, using Lynda.com requires a paid subscription, but as a Monroe County Library cardholder you can access Lynda.com content from any computer with an internet connection simply by entering your library card number and PIN (Your PIN is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number).

Summer Reading Program

Join the Summer Reading Program!  The program is for children ages birth thru 6th grade and is free to join.  Kids can have fun reading, attending programs, and earning prizes this summer!  Registration for the program begins Monday, June 10th and will continue through July 19th.  For more information visit or contact the library.

Oglebay Institute Lunar Lunacy

Plan on attending the Oglebay Institue Lunar Lunacy program on Monday, June 10th at 11:00.

This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the USA moon landing!  Learn all about the moon, our closest companion in the sky, as you rotate around the room, create moon phases, and drop meteorites to form craters on our very own moonscape.  Includes a look at what makes a "blue moon," the moons of the other planets, and a short reading from "Thirteen Moons on Turtles Back."
